2015 Spring Tour of Homes (March 7)

Each spring, the Franklin G. Burroughs-Simeon B. Chapin Museum’s Tour of Homes offers a look at some of the most glamorous and uniquely decorated homes in the Myrtle Beach area, while serving as the Museum’s major fundraiser. The 15th Annual Spring Tour of Homes is scheduled for Saturday, March 7, 2015.

32nd Annual National Shag Dance Champtionship FInals (March 12-14)

The NSDC started in Myrtle Beach in 1984 and is the longest continuously running shag dance contest in the United States. Past winners of the NSDC have performed on countless TV shows and events including: Good Morning America, CBS This Morning, PGA Annual Banquets, NBA Games, Beach Music Awards, and Harvard University. The NSDC is the past winner of two "Feather Awards" for best swing dance event in the United States. In addition to hosting the annual contest, the NSDC established the "Beth Mitchell Memorial Scholarship" in 1998 to annually assist in the education of a deserving college student who is a current or past contest in the NSDC, or whose family has competed in the NSDC. The scholarship foundation is classified as a 501c3 for tax deductions. Scholarship recipients are announced each year at the Finals of the NSDC. The NSDC is held over two weekends each year with the Preliminaries (Qualifying Round) occurring near the end of January and the Finals in early March. If you enjoy watching dance shows on TV, then you should attend the NSDC and experience the excitement of a first class dance competition in person.

St. Patrick's Day Parade and Festival (March 14)

The 27th Annual St. Patrick's Day Festival and Parade will be held on Main Street, Myrtle Beach, Saturday, March 14, 2015. This one-day, rain or shine event brings approximately 30,000 to celebrate being Irish and welcome the coming of spring. A parade begins the day at 9:00 a.m., followed by two stages of live music and a children's area with rides and amusements from 11:00 am until 4:00 pm. Along Main Street approximately 150 vendors will display their crafts, services, information, products, or serve a variety of treats.

54th Annual Can-Am Festival (March 18 - 21)

he Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce is excited to celebrate 54 years of welcoming our Canadian and snowbird visitors to our 60 miles of pristine, sandy beaches! Once again, the red carpet will be rolled out and our neighbors from the north will feel at home with a lineup of fun events and concerts taking place along the Grand Strand. From March 14 through March 22, 2015, Can-Am Days attendees can choose from a variety of free events and activities including band concerts, a St. Patrick's Day parade and dance, golf tournaments and dining, all complemented by discounts on attractions and golf. The Can-Am Days truly showcases Southern hospitality at its finest!
